Four Persons in BiH concluded Guilty Plea for Illegal Transfer of Migrants

The following accused persons concluded a guilty plea agreement with a prosecutor from the Special Department for Organised Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

JASMIN SELIMAGIĆ, born in 1987 in Prijedor, citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina. A single prison sentence of 1 (one) year and 3 (three) months has been proposed as the main sentence.

MILICA MILIĆEVIĆ, born in 1986 in Podgorica, Republic of Montenegro, citizen of the Republic of Montenegro. A single prison sentence of 1 (one) year has been proposed as the main sentence, which will not be imposed if the accused person does not commit a new criminal offense within a period of 4 (four) years, as well as a subsidiary fine in the amount of BAM 6,000.

IGOR ĐURICA, born in 1990 in Prijedor, residing in Prijedor, citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina. A single prison sentence of 1 (one) year has been proposed as the main sentence, which will not be imposed if the accused person does not commit a new criminal offense within a period of 4 (four) years, as well as a subsidiary fine in the amount of BAM 4,000.

DRAGO SUVODOLAC, born in 1997 in Prijedor, citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina. A single prison sentence of 6 (six) months has been proposed as the main sentence, which will not be imposed if the accused person does not commit a new criminal offense within a period of 2 (two) years, as well as a subsidiary fine in the amount of BAM 1000.

The indictment states that in the period between 26 November and 4 December 2017, they, by acting jointly and mutually agreed and related actions, unlawfully transferred 7 migrants, citizens of Afghanistan and Iran, transported and accommodated them in Bosnia and Herzegovina and agreed their illegal transfer to EU countries.

All the accused, in the presence of their defense counsel, admitted their guilt for the criminal offense of Association for the Purpose of Committing the Criminal Offence in violation of Article 249 in conjunction with the criminal offense of Smuggling of Persons in violation of Article 189 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The accused have admitted guilt of their own free will, without any coercion or persuasion, relinquishing their right to a trial or appeal to a judgement rendered by the Court of BiH pursuant to the Agreement.

Plea Agreements were forwarded to the Court of BiH.
