Four Persons tested Positive for Coronavirus in Sarajevo

In the past 24 hours, four people out of 508 tested were positive for coronavirus in the Sarajevo Canton, according to the Canton Sarajevo Public Health Institute. Nine people recovered from the Covid infection and, fortunately, no one died.

Of the mentioned number of newly infected, two persons belong to family clusters or contacts with previously infected persons, which is why they are in self-isolation from before.

Currently, 29 patients are hospitalized in CS, 12 at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, and at the General Hospital "Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakas ”19 of them. There are no patients on a respirator, and oxygen support for breathing above 15 liters per minute is used by one hospitalized person who is currently being treated at the General Hospital.

No patients were discharged from hospital treatment in the past 24 hours. Today, Sarajevo Canton records 168 active cases of Covid-19 infection. There are currently 868 people in self-isolation. Since the beginning of the pandemic in the Sarajevo Canton, a total of 52,615 people infected with the coronavirus have been registered and 51,164 have been cured.

According to the data of the Institute of Public Health of CS, in the past seven days, the average number of infected is seven, while the weekly incidence, ie the number of patients per 100,000 inhabitants, is 11.


The Ministry of Health of CS and health institutions thank the citizens for their cooperation and ask them to continue to respect all prescribed hygienic-epidemiological measures.
