Fourth ‘Sarajevo Business Forum’ on 17 May

BBI Bank in cooperation with Islamic Development Bank (IDB) has announced the 4th International Investment Conference ‘Sarajevo Business Forum 2013’ – Models of Growth and Lessons for Southeast Europe’ which will be held on 17 May in Sarajevo.

Renowned world leader Mahathir Muhamed, former Prime Minister of Malaysia announced that he’ll attend the conference, and he will present growth models and development of Malaysia, and participate in discussion on development potentials of BIH and region.

Guest of the conference will also be Danilo Turk, former president of Slovenia, who’ll talk about experiences of the EU membership and the access to European funds.

Deputy Prime-Minister of Turkey Ali Babacan, who is responsible for economy will also attend and he’ll talk about the rapid development and growth of Turkey, and together with Mahathir, he’ll discuss the necessary steps for BiH and Southeast Europe.

In the second part of the conference, world experts, representatives of institutional invests from fields of agriculture, infrastructure, energy and tourism will present the best international experiences from these fields and paths for the development of existing potentials.

Manager of BBI Amer Bukvić said: ‘ This year in the focus of Sarajevo Business Forum (SBF) will be the drawing of conclusions for BiH and countries from the region from discussions of development and growth models, which are presented through experiences of world leaders, like Mr. Mahathir, who said he’ll attend the SBF. Also, the best world practices from the field of agriculture, infrastructure, energy and tourism will be presented and they can be used in strategies of BiH and countries of the region. This year’s forum will be more in the form of conference and the expected result is to establish the new platform for the development of potentials that BiH and countries of the region have.’

During the conference, interested businessmen will have the opportunity to have B2B meetings. On the second day of conference, foreign investors will visit production facilities of BIH producers.

At the last three conferences, which were deemed by media as the most important economic event in modern BiH, more than 1 300 investors from Gulf States, Europe, Asia and Americas attended, who had the opportunity to see projects from different fields. Some of the people who proposed the project found an investor and have realized their ideas and improved their business by cooperating with foreign markets.
