Ivo Markovic, a professor at the Franciscan Theology in Sarajevo and the founder of the Interreligious Choir Pontanima, was interviewed.
He said that Dragan Covic cruelly insulted the victims from the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (NARS).
“It should be borne in mind that about 200.000 Croats were expelled from the RS. 5% of them remained. Many were killed, many were expelled from their homes where there was no war,and it should be said openly – RS is a genocidal creation. It was created on genocide, on evil. Without any remorse, without any apology and this is how they lead the Greater Serbia policy towards Bosnia. And in such a place, in such a Republic, Dragan Covic goes and says ‘protect this’. It’s really cruel and I understand the reactions that followed. I would mention something else. He is not crazy, he knows what he is doing. He has reasons why he said that. He is supported by a large part of Bosnian Croats who do not like this Bosnia. The guilt is in national relations, above all the guilt is in ‘the nationalist Bosniak Islamic policy of SDA’. They are trying to make Bosnia a Bosniak, Islamic, and this is a multinational country. People don’t want to live in such country that the SDA, the far right-wing party, is trying to make, ”
“They don’t have a safe perspective and then they say I’m going where my children will be safer. There are a lot of people who would return to RS and try to return, but they encountered many obstacles and were expelled. And Covic should have asked why people are not returning to RS. Return is obstructed. There is no investment anywhere where these Croats live, there is no help. So the environment is the main thing. And this other politician, Komsic, well the Croats were, so to speak, simply disgusted with Bosnia. I am referring to the SDA again, they electedKomsic, he was elected by the will of other people and the Croats do not consider him as their own. It is terribly political. Well, Bosnia can only live if people feel equal and accepted in it. If they feel threatened, then it is a terrible environment. “
This division is also corrupt
Fr. Markovic thinks that the right approach would be for everyone to consider how a person of another nationality feels with him.
“If the technique of the election law is adopted, all elections have been illegal so far. Now, if that electronic, better quality voting system is introduced so that votes cannot be stolen, that is a big step forward. Covic, for example, did not care that Croats elect their representatives, only HDZ matters to him, he wantsthat he gets elected. I think that there will have to be a little bit of pressure to really make that legitimate representation, for people to choose who they want, I think that can be done. I believe that the Election Law will be greatly changed. I don’t know how far it will go, but I am convinced that there will be progress. “
I expect that the elections will be as much more legal, of better quality
Asked what he expects from the elections, he stated: “I expect the elections to be as legal and high-quality as possible. I am convinced that they will not stay like this. Secondly, the electorate is important. If our Bosnian man has not figured out that enemies are leading this country, and if we are not committed to dismissing them, the essence of democracy, the essence of elections is that the current government can change. If we do not change this government, there will be no progress. I expect that the national parties will be suppressed as much as possible and that the people will no longer vote only on the basis of that national affiliation, but on the basis of quality. ”
