The Federal Civil Protection Administration joined the search this morning for two people who entered the Jala River bed in the Tuzla area on March 27 and disappeared after being swept away by the swollen river, the Federal Civil Protection Administration announced.

The statement states that at the request of the Cantonal Civil Protection Administration, by order of the Director of the Federal Civil Protection Administration, members of the federal specialized water and underwater rescue units, a team with search dogs, drone operators and sonar were sent to the field.

Due to the large amount of garbage and waste materials, a special decontamination vehicle with equipment and an operator was also included in the search.

Teams have been deployed and are searching several locations on the Jala and Spreča rivers, and a search is also being carried out on land along the riverbed, where the coastal zone is being searched. Although the river water level has dropped, the search is being made more difficult by large deposits of garbage that block access to certain locations, visual inspection and slow down the teams.

In addition to the Federal Civil Protection Administration, the Special Needs Police Unit of the Canton of Tivat, the Srebrenik Military Police and the Lukavac Diving Club for the Disabled are also involved in the search.

The missing persons, a police officer who entered the Jala River and a person who was fleeing from the police when they were both swept away by the swollen Rijeka, have been searched since March 27, it was announced.
