The 102nd regular session of the Assembly of the Interreligious Council in Bosnia and Herzegovina was held today in Sarajevo, attended by all members of the Assembly, the Executive Board and the Secretariat.

The session was marked by the return of representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church, who reactivated their membership in the Council as of June 1, 2025.

This act renewed the quadrilateral partnership within the MRV in BiH, which includes the Islamic Community in BiH, the Catholic Church, the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Jewish Community of BiH.

The members of the MRV Assembly in BiH expressed their satisfaction with the reunion of all traditional churches and religious communities in joint work to promote interreligious dialogue, peace and coexistence in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The session also unanimously decided to extend the chairmanship of the MRV in BiH to the Catholic Church, headed by Mons. Tomo Vukšić, Archbishop of Vrhbosna, who is a member of the MRV Assembly in BiH.

The Interreligious Council in Bosnia and Herzegovina continues its mission of promoting peace, respect and coexistence through interreligious dialogue by respecting diversity and emphasizing the common values of religious and spiritual traditions in Bosnia and Herzegovina with the aim of building a fairer and more stable society for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

MRV in Bosnia and Herzegovina on the occasion of Kurban Bayram tells believers of the Islamic faith that their holiday days be filled with peace, love and togetherness, because Kurban Bayram reminds us of the values of sacrifice, solidarity and care for one’s neighbors. In the spirit of mutual respect and understanding, let this holiday be an opportunity to strengthen ties.
