Federal Minister of Interior Ramo Isak attended today’s ceremony to mark the Day of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina. On that occasion, he extended his sincere congratulations to all members of the Border Police, emphasizing the importance of their role in maintaining border security and combating all forms of cross-border crime:

“Today, when we mark Border Police Day, I express my deep respect for all members of this institution who perform their duties on a daily basis, with dedication and professionalism. The security of our borders is not only a matter of territorial integrity, but also the protection of citizens, the legal order and the European path of our country. The Federal Ministry of Interior will continue to provide full support to strengthening the capacities of the Border Police, in the interest of peace, stability and security of all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Minister Isak.

He emphasized that cooperation between entity and state security institutions is very important in order to further improve the fight against illegal migration, human trafficking and organized crime, the FMUP announced.

The ceremony was held in the presence of numerous guests from security sector institutions, representatives of international organizations and the legislative and executive branches, as well as officers of the BiH Border Police.

The BiH Border Police began its operational work on June 6, 2000, with the formation of the first unit at Sarajevo Airport, therefore this date is marked as Border Police Day.
