FUP: There is no Evidence that the Security of the President of FBiH was compromised

On July 6, 2017, the Federal Police Directorate (FUP) received a notification that the day before, the President of the FBiH Marinko Cavara was under a security threat during his trip on the motorway, on the section Kakanj-Zenica.

The President of the FBiH is a protected person and his security is under the jurisdiction of the Federal Police Directorate, by the work place, residence, and movement, based on the principle of security protection for 24 hours, as announced from the Federal Police Directorate (FUP).

Given that the received reports resulted in indications of the possible criminal offense, the Prosecutor’s Office of the Zenica-Doboj Canton was notified as a local authority, in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Code, and it supervised the work of police officers regarding with the reported event.

On the section of the Kakanj-Zenica highway, threatening “visual contact” took place between the criminal H. N (resident of Kakanj) and an NN person, who were traveling along the mentioned motorway in Passat.

“There is no evidence that the aforementioned persons were familiar with Marinko Cavara, or that they acted in the threatening manner towards the President of the FBiH,” as announced by the FUP.

All the collected documentation related to the aforementioned event, together with reports, was submitted to the Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of the ZDC.
