Gaza Civil Defense claims Israel is leaving Palestinian Bodies for stray Dogs

The Gaza Civil Defense reported on Saturday that Israeli forces were killing Palestinians and leaving their bodies in the streets for stray dogs to eat.

The Civil Defense reported that Israeli forces had repeatedly attacked rescue teams and ambulances, especially when they tried to access the bodies of the killed Palestinians.

They said Israel had also obstructed efforts to recover the bodies of thousands of Palestinians from the rubble of homes destroyed by Israeli airstrikes.

They said they had come across the remains of the killed Palestinians.

They also said they had seen stray dogs feeding on the bodies in several neighborhoods, including Zeitoun, Shujaiya, Tel al-Hawa, the Jabaliya area, Tal al-Zaatar, Beit Hanoun and parts of the eastern areas of Khan Younis and Rafah.

Stressing that Israel’s actions constitute a violation of the Geneva Conventions, they called on the signatory states to “take immediate measures to ensure that Israel complies with international law”.

They also called on the international community, including the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), to “press Israel to follow appropriate protocols for the treatment of bodies killed in hostilities”.

Israel has waged a genocidal war in Gaza that has killed more than 45,200 people, mostly women and children, since a cross-border attack by the Palestinian group Hamas on 7 October last year.

The International Criminal Court last month issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel faces genocide charges at the International Court of Justice over the Gaza war, AA writes.
