GDP in FBiH increased by 3.4 percent in the third Quarter

According to the first estimates, the gross domestic product (GDP) of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) in the third quarter of this year increased by 3.4 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year, said Emir Kremic, director of the Federal Bureau of Statistics, at a press conference in Sarajevo.

The biggest growth in gross value added in the third quarter of this year compared to the same period last year, as he added, was recorded in activities: art, entertainment and recreation; other service activities of 18.3 percent; industrial activities 10.2 percent; wholesale and retail, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles; transport and storage; the activities of providing accommodation and preparing and serving food 6.6 percent, and the financial and insurance activities 5.8 percent.

Kremic added that the biggest real decrease in gross value added was recorded in activities: agriculture, forestry and fishery by 9.2 percent, as well as in professional, scientific and technical activities, and administrative and auxiliary service activities by 4 percent.

He stated that GDP in current prices of the FBiH in 2016 amounts to 19.540.120 thousand BAM and is nominally higher by 4.6 percent compared to 2015.

“The GDP per capita in the FBiH in 2016 amounts to 8.857 BAM, which is by 405 BAM higher than in 2015, and represents nominally increase of 4.8 percent. Compared to 2010, GDP per capita is higher by 1.469 BAM, “ Kremic added.

He stated that the participation of FBiH’s GDP in GDP of BiH in 2016 was 65.4 percent, while the same participation in 2010 amounted to 64.9 percent.
