SlovakVans (Novovrijeme)The Government of Slovak Republic donated four vans to transport patients on dialysis to directors of health centers with areas affected by last year’s floods.

The value of these vans is about 92,000 US dollars, and will serve for the needs of health centers in Doboj, Maglaj, Domaljevac and Samac, and will provide daily transport of more than 120 patients.

Ambassador of the Slovak Republic in BiH Jan Psenica, said that it was a great pleasure to attend the ceremony of delivery vehicles, initiated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia Miroslav Lajcak.

“This is concrete project, because we give direct assistance and support to people in BiH. I wish that these vehicles do not need anyone, but we live in the real world where not everyone is healthy”, said Psenica.

SlovakVans (Prvi)Assistant of the Minister of Health in FBiH Goran Cerkez said that this is a very important day for health facilities that were damaged by floods.

“During the flood period, there was no entity or any other border in the treatment of patients” said Cerkez and added that a large number of patients from Doboj and Samac were treated in the Federation of BiH.

Directors of four health centers thanked for their generous donation, noting that these vans have great significance for patients who need dialysis.

Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic and the United Nations in BiH signed in November 2014 an agreement which enabled the help of the Slovak Republic for flood-affected areas, in the framework of the UN Programme for flood recovery “Today for us”.
