Federal Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Nermin Džindić met yesterday with the Director of the Office of the German Development Bank (KfW) in Sarajevo Matthias Schmidt-Rosen and the Project Coordinator for Energy Jasmina Salihagić, the Ministry stated.
Minister Džindić informed the representatives of this bank that in the coming period a list of 100 projects will be made, where the priorities for both the FBiH and the entire BiH will be defined. The list will be available at the web page of the Government of FBiH.
Director Schmidt-Rosen presented to the Minister Džindić the current and planned activities of this bank in BiH for which 300 million EUR are provided. Activities are especially based on promotion of renewable energy and energy efficiency, and on projects in cooperation with three electrical energy management enterprises in BiH. They also discussed capital projects – construction of wind power plants Podveležje and Mesihovina, and the hydro power plants “Janjići” and “Kovanići”.
“New management of Elektroprivreda HZ HB promised the continuation of the project of the pumping hydro power plant ‘Vrilo’ worth 100 million EUR,” Schmidt-Rosen said.
Schmidt-Rosen and Džindić also talked about experiences regarding the energy sector in Germany and which parts of that could be used in BiH, especially in relation to the current events on the electrical energy market. Minister Džindić expressed hope that the Law on Energy Efficiency will be passed soon, which is in accordance with the implementation of obligations from the 3rd energy package, stated the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry of FBiH.
