Director General of the Public Company Elektroprivreda BiH Bajazit Jasarevic and Executive Director for Economic Affairs Muhamed Razanica signed the contract worth 1.100.000 EUR for preparation of the project Wind Power Plant “Bitovnja” with representatives of the German Development Bank (KfW) Constanze Kreiss and Matthias Schmidt-Rosen in Sarajevo.
The German Development Bank approved non-refundable funds, which were allocated by the Government of Germany within the framework of development cooperation of Germany with BiH.
PE Elektroprivreda BiH is planning the construction of up to 25 wind turbines of total installed power of 60 MW, depending on the type of turbine.
The minimum annual production of 110 GWh of electricity was estimated by current analysis.
The wind power plant “Bitovnja” is planned for implementation within the Long-term Development Plan of PE Elektroprivreda BiH as one of the crucial production energy facilities based on renewable energy sources.
The location of the planned WPP “Bitovnja” is in the northern part of the Municipality of Konjic, near the border with the neighbouring Municipality of Kresevo, about 30 kilometers from Sarajevo. It is located between 1.530 and 1.700 meters above the sea level.
Within the development cooperation of Germany, KfW will also fund the project of wind power plant “Podvelezje” with 15 wind turbines, which will be constructed around 10 kilometres away of Mostar, as announced by the Service for Communications of EPBiH.
