The German football giant Schalke 04 congratulated the Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) with a nice message on social media.

The second most popular German sports team, which reached that position with more than 160.000 active members (the first is Bayern with slightly less than 300.000), did not forget to congratulate our country on one of the most important dates in history.

In Schalke, where many players from our country left a deep mark, they congratulated the Independence Day in an appropriate way, in the Bosnian language and with a photo of the BiH flag.

“Happy Independence Day to everyone from BiH,” was published on Schalke’s Facebook page, attracting the attention of many fans from our country.

The deepest mark in Schalke was left by Sead Kolasinac, who was the only BiH player to be the captain of the club from Gelsenkirchen, the club where he started his career. Besides him, members of the club were Vedad Ibisevic, Zlatan Bajramovic, Enver Maric, and Radmilo Mihajlovic. Ivica Jozic from Mostar also played in Schalke’s second team.

Despite somewhat weaker results in recent years, Schalke is considered one of the biggest clubs in Germany. Die Knappen (the Miners) have won seven German championships, six cups, the German Super Cup, the UEFA Cup, two trophies in the Intertoto Cup…, Klix.ba reports.
