German Government’s special Envoy for the Western Balkans visits BiH

The German government’s special envoy for the Western Balkans, Manuel Sarrazin, today discussed the formation of government at the FBiH level with the vice-presidents of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Refik Lendo and Igor Stojanović, at the seat of the Delegation of the European Union to BiH.

The two of them at the meeting informed Sarrazin about their views on how the FBiH government should be formed, and it was clear that they have opposing views.

After the meeting, Lendo stated that he presented his position to Sarrazin and reiterated that he does not see the formation of a new FBiH Government without the SDA.

He says that the SDA and the Democratic Front, as the winners of this year’s general elections, should be part of the government, which should be appointed by the president and two vice-presidents of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“The coalition that has the majority has its own program and assigned portfolios, and I think it will be proposed very soon. I am an advocate for it to be a coalition that has an absolute majority in the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament, while Lendo is an advocate that the will of 13 delegates who elected him must be respected at all costs.

This means that there is a conflict in our Constitution between civic and ethnic principles,” said Stojanović after the meeting, where he said that the proposal of his solution is to respect the civic majority, Fena reports.
