German Humanitarian Organization described the Situation in Gaza as an ‘apocalypse’

The German humanitarian organization Welthungerhilfe said in a statement on Thursday that the situation in the Gaza Strip resembles an “apocalypse” after more than a year of war.

“Our experienced colleagues… have never seen such mass destruction and despair among people in any other crisis area in the world,” said the president of the organization Mathias Mogge.

“It is an apocalyptic situation,” he added.

The organization said that despite the hunger and hardships of civilians in the Gaza Strip, too little aid is reaching the territory.

It describes people living in tent camps in a confined space between the sea and completely destroyed buildings, amidst constant Israeli airstrikes, gunfire and drones circling overhead.

The organization once again condemned the attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7, 2023, in which the militants massacred around 1,200 people and took 250 hostages.
