At least 20 people were killed in Israeli shelling of a tent settlement for displaced Palestinians in the Al-Mawasi region west of the city of Rafah, a settlement that Israel previously labeled as “safe” for Palestinians expelled from other parts of the Gaza Strip.

The Rafah Emergency Committee said Israel shelled tents in the coastal area west of the center of Rafah.

According to initial information, at least 20 people, mostly women and children, lost their lives in the attack, and many people were injured.

Witnesses report that many dead and injured people remained at the scene of this massacre.

Grenade tents are located only a hundred meters from the American field hospital in the west of Rafah.
