German Minister for Europe and Climate Anna Luhrmann is on an official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina. She said that her country firmly supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. She also stressed that Germany will take concrete measures against those who threaten the Dayton Agreement.

BiH Presidency Member Denis Bećirović spoke with Luhrmann during her visit to Sarajevo, and the focus of the conversation was the security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.

Bećirović stressed that the attack on the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Dayton Peace Agreement by the leadership of Republika Srpska is still ongoing. As he stated, it is necessary to stop the anti-Dayton and anti-constitutional actions of the RS authorities as soon as possible.

He stressed that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a democratic and legal state, based on the rule of law, and that any disrespect for the Constitution and laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina constitutes a serious criminal offense. He pointed out that it is important for the international community to respond adequately to threats to the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the aim of protecting peace and security in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.

Luhrmann emphasized that the Federal Republic of Germany is closely monitoring the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that it supports the decisions of the independent judicial institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

She announced that Germany will also take concrete measures against those who threaten the Dayton Peace Agreement. She emphasized that all political actors should protect the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. She announced that Germany will continue to support Bosnia and Herzegovina in its efforts to maintain peace and stability, as well as the smooth operation of institutions and the judicial system.

Bećirović said that the overall engagement of friendly Germany is extremely important for Bosnia and Herzegovina. He especially thanked Germany for its strong support for Bosnia and Herzegovina on its European and Euro-Atlantic path.

During her visit to Sarajevo, Luhrmann also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced on social networks that it was a constructive conversation about the political situation in the country.

“Germany has once again confirmed its unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its path towards the European Union,” the announcement said.
