German State Secretary Miguel Berger is visiting BiH

German State Secretary Miguel Berger is visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina from July 31st to August 3rd.

Among other things, he will meet with the members of Presidency of BiH, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Central Election Commission to discuss current topics and challenges of the internal and foreign policy situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In addition, Secretary of State Berger will lay a wreath at the Potocari Memorial Center, it was announced from the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in BiH.

At the heart of the political talks will be EU integration, German support for Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path to the EU and the reform progress needed to do so. In addition, they will discuss political developments in the country as well as migration issues, and will visit the Blazij Migrant Reception Center, which was built with the help of the German Technical Assistance Service (THW).

Secretary of State Berger will also be briefed on the EUFOR / Althea mission and on co-operation with NATO. Representatives of civil society will inform him at the meeting about their current problems and challenges as well as their position regarding development in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At the end of his visit, Secretary of State Berger will attend the inauguration of the new High Representative to BiH, Christian Schmidt.
