Germans increased Number of Work Permits for Citizens of BiH by 70 %

The number of issued work permits in Germany was increased by 70 % in the first eight months of this year, with the highest number of permits issued to citizens of BiH and Albania.

Simplified issuance of work permits for people from countries such as Albania, Kosovo or BiH, was introduced at the beginning of the year of 2016.

“Since people from the Western Balkans were mostly “economic refugees”, the Federal Government made a decision. Those countries were declared as safe countries. Instead of that, applicants received privileged access to the labor market of Germany,” as reported by Welt.de.

However, unlike usual foreign immigration from third countries to the labor market of Germany, approvals are not granted on the basis of qualifications.

For example, for the”Blue Card” that is issued to highly qualified people, applicants in Germany must earn at least 50,000 EUR annually from a job that is promised by a potential employer, and in shortages a bit under 39,000 EUR a year.
