Germany contributes additional 500,000 Euros for Demining in BiH

Germany continues its long-standing commitment to humanitarian demining in Bosnia and Herzegovina with an investment of an additional 550,000 euros.

The Mines Advisory Group (MAG) continues the demining activities in the municipality of Ljubljenica, where it started cleaning the site already last year. MAG will also clear suspicious locations in the Tuzla region.

With the resources available, MAG can clean up about five square miles of suspicious sites. Subsequently, these areas are mainly used for agriculture, forestry and made available for population return.

Since 1997, the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany has provided around 36 million euros for humanitarian demining and thus provided mine-free space in the immediate vicinity of the population.
