The handover of a donation of specialist equipment worth 750.000 euros, as part of the cooperation between Germany and the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), took place yesterday in Sarajevo. As it was said, the equipment will help members of the Border Police in more efficient protection of the border of BiH.
Namely, the donation was presented to the director of the BiH Border Police, Mirko Kupresakovic, by the German Ambassador to BiH Thomas Fitschen.
Kupresakovic specified that the border surveillance system from this donation belongs to the North East Field Office in Bijeljina, and the demining robot and mobile X-ray system belong to the anti-bomb team of the Sarajevo Airport Border Police Unit.
Fitschen told that the aim of this support from Germany is to strengthen the capacity of the Border Police.
“Today’s handover will mark another chapter of cooperation between the Border Police of BiH and the Federal Police of Germany. Strengthening border and migration management can only succeed in the cooperation of competent institutions and relevant agencies,” Fitschen said yesterday.
He added that his country will continue to strengthen the capacities and skills of the BiH Border Police on BiH’s path to the European Union (EU).
