Germany to Support Humanitarian Demining in B&H

minaBy signing the two agreements; one with the German ambassador Christian Hellbach as signatory and the other one with the NGO “Norwegian Public Aid” (NPA), the long-term engagement of Germany in the sector of humanitarian demining extended even more.

Beside this supplementary contract intended to further financial aid in demining process at the sites of Donji Rahmići and Dubrava signed with the NGO NPA and worth 400 000 BAM, another contract, also with NPA, intended to purchase of demining equipment and worth 57 305 00 BAM was signed as well.

The demining equipment should, within the NPA’s program, greatly support the “Demining battalion of the Armed forces of B&H” in its activities, especially related to consequences left after the floods in B&H.

Given all this, the total financial aid by the Federal Republic of Germany in 2014 in the sector of humanitarian demining in B&H is over 4 million BAM.

Since 1997, Germany has provided for these purposes over 52 million BAM. It will continue to do so, depending on available funds.
