Foto1Successful development policy cooperation between Germany and BiH is continuing. As a part of intergovernmental negotiations, which were held yesterday in Sarajevo, German delegation has approved new funds amounting to 56 million EUR.

The main part of bilateral technical and financial cooperation is the improvement of administration, democracy and economic support, as well as infrastructure in the field of renewable energy sources.

The project is implemented by the German International Cooperation Association (GIZ) and German Credit Department for Restoration (KfW).

Both organizations have their offices in BiH.

‘The most important aim of the development policy cooperation with BiH is bringing the country closer to the EU’ said Christiane Markert, charge d’affairs of German Embassy in Sarajevo in her introductory speech.

BiH can finish its path to the EU only if it implements all necessary reforms.

The negotiation protocol, on the behalf of German delegation, was signed by head of delegation Leo Kreuz from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development

Head of BiH delegation was Mitar Kujundžić, assistant minister in BiH in BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Representatives of FBiH Government, RS and Brčko District have also signed the memorandum.
