The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, met today in Sarajevo with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Thomas Fitschen.
The meeting was held as part of the farewell visit of Ambassador Fitschen, whom Minister Konaković thanked for the successful cooperation and engagement in strengthening relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Federal Republic of Germany to date.
During the meeting, the traditionally good and partnership relations between the two countries were confirmed, with both sides expressing their readiness to further improve them.
Ambassador Fitschen confirmed the strong and continuous support of the Republic of Germany for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and for the country’s European path, emphasizing the importance of continuing the reform processes and preserving political stability.
Minister Konaković emphasized the importance of Germany as an extremely important and reliable partner of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and expressed his belief that successful cooperation will continue and further deepen in the future. In the continuation of the conversation, he thanked Germany for its continued support, especially in the context of European integration. He emphasized that the political moment is extremely challenging, but that Bosnia and Herzegovina remains committed to reforms and a European perspective.
During the meeting, the upcoming commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide was also discussed, and Ambassador Fitschen confirmed the arrival of representatives of the Federal Republic of Germany to the commemoration, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH announced.
