This year’s edition of the job fair titled “Gledaj sebi posla” (Eng. Get Yourself a Job) gathered a record number of over 140 companies and many visitors over the past two days. Through panels and discussions, the program raised key questions of the labor market – from the shortage of a qualified workforce and employment of youth to inclusion, digital skills, and the effects of artificial intelligence on the future of jobs.
The job fair “Gledaj sebi posla” concluded this year’s edition as the largest and most visited edition so far, which confirms that this initiative has outgrown the framework of a classical employment fair and become one of the most significant platforms for connecting employers, workers, the young, institutions, and all those who are seeking their opportunity on the labor market.
This year’s fair brought together over 140 companies, a record number of presenters, and a large turnout over both days, confirming strong public interest in employment, career development, and new opportunities.
Three significant panels were held on the first day of the fair. The panel “Labor Market and Demographic Future of the FBiH 2026-2030 – Where are the people, Where are the Jobs?” raised questions about workforce shortages, demographic changes, migration, and engaging unemployed and inactive persons. The panel “Employer of the Future: Talents, Technology, and Culture” focused on new expectations of employees, attracting and retaining talent, while the third panel “Shortage of Qualified Workforce: Removing Consequences By Using Active Employment Measures” addressed concrete measures that can take candidates from registration to employment.
The program was further enriched by a Podcast Corner, which covered practical and real-life labor market topics. Representatives of international organizations, business communities, and institutions, including the federal minister of labor and social policy Adnan Delić and the BH Telecom Executive Director Amel Kovačević, talked about their experiences, challenges, people, and the future of jobs.
The second day of the fair addressed equally important topics. The panel “Equal Opportunities and Inclusive Employment,” featuring a keynote address by UNDP Resident Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Renaud Meyer, focused on creating an inclusive labor market and the transition of persons with disabilities from education to employment, including barriers, support for employees, and workplace accessibility.
The panel “Youth Employment and Retention Strategy” opened the question of how to make the transition from education to first employment easier for young people and what needs to be done for them to build their future in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Nihad Uk, Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton; Ernis Imamović, Assistant Federal Minister for Labor, Employment, and Occupational Safety; and Ivan Barbalić, Director of the Labor and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, led the discussion.
The panel “Digital Skills, AI, and Upcoming Jobs” drew special attention, bringing together experts in technology, education, media, and leadership development. The discussion focused on which jobs artificial intelligence is changing and creating, which digital skills will soon become the baseline for most occupations, and how workers and companies can prepare for the changes that are already underway.
With this year’s content and discussions, the job fair “Gledaj sebi posla” has once again confirmed that a job is not only a matter of employment, but a matter of dignity, perspective, development, and the future of society.
A record number of companies and a large turnout show that there is a need for such a platform and that connecting people and opportunities is one of the key answers to labor market challenges.
At the closing ceremony, Federal Minister of Labor and Social Policy Adnan Delić addressed the young and unemployed attendees, emphasizing that the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy is a unique and dedicated ministry that remains at everyone’s disposal.
“This year saw the highest number of employers so far. I hope this idea lives on, that this Fair becomes a tradition, and that it improves year after year. In this way, we can address the reality we face—a large number of unemployed people—and increase job opportunities with employers and the overall number of employed persons across the Federation of BiH. Ultimately, this will help realize more investments and projects for employers living and operating in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Delić emphasized.
This year’s Job Fair edition was organized by the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, with support from partners and institutions that work together to create a more efficient, inclusive, and competitive labor market in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The event was supported by partners including the Federal Employment Institute, the Fund for Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities, the Public Employment Service of Sarajevo Canton, and international organizations UN Women and the International Labour Organization (ILO), as announced by the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy.
