Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, received the Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Toufik Milat, and discussed relations between the two countries.
Bećirović emphasized the importance that Bosnia and Herzegovina attaches to relations with Algeria as one of the most important countries in North Africa, announced the BiH Presidency.
The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the good and friendly relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Algeria, recalling the traditional historical friendship which is a good basis for improving the relations between the two countries in all fields, especially on the economic level.
They expressed the intention to implement bilateral visits at the highest level, conclude basic interstate agreements, as well as cooperate with international bodies.
Bećirović discussed the Decision on the opening of the embassy of BiH in the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria and expressed satisfaction with the Decision on the opening of the embassy of Algeria in Sarajevo and the appointment of an ambassador for BiH.
The interlocutors agreed that opening embassies in both countries will significantly contribute to the enhancement of relations and cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Algeria.
