Good News for the Unemployed: 1000 New Workplaces to be open soon

Unemployment and Wages in B&H oslobodjenje.baThe number of unemployed persons in Canton Sarajevo was reduced by 4 % in the last 16 months, which is solid result for the Director of the Cantonal Service for Employment Midhat Osmanbegovic, but he announces that they will continue to actively work on reduction in the number of unemployed with the application of active employment policies.

He explained that the Decree of the Government of the FBiH has two programs: the self-employment program which has 72 signatories who signed the contract, and the employment of young people without work experience that was signed by 124 people.

“It is the project for which was planned a budget of 7.965 million BAM, and so far with these contracts has been spent around one million BAM. There is room to receive another 1,000 workers,” said Osmanbegovic.

According to active employment policy and application of measures of finding first employment, Senad Osmanovic received a job in the company “Sinkro”, which deals with the production and sale of furniture.

“I am working in the company “Sinkro” for fifteen days and I have been unemployed for three years. I am employed now thanks to the project of the first employment. I finished the School of Electrical Engineering and I am happy that I can earn a salary,” said worker in “Sinkro”, Senad Osmanovic.

According to the Tax Administration of the FBiH, there was an increase of 26,219 employees in the FBiH from April 2015 to October 2016. This means increasing the number of employees by 3 % in Canton Sarajevo.
