gorazdeOn the 18th of September, when Gorazde marks the Day of the Municipality and BPC Gorazde, or on the Day of Liberation, the city will get new tennis courts.

The long awaited project for construction at the locality above the city stadium in Gorazde, entered the final phase. Construction of tennis courts will cost about 80,000 BAM and the funds are provided by the Municipality of Gorazde, the Ministry of Education, Youth, Science, Culture and Sport, while Dr. Ulrich Hogenschurz from the Association Mettmann – Gorazde, funded the project with 17,000 BAM.

“The works were delayed for objective reasons, but the conditions were eventually created and the official opening will be on the Liberation Day. The contractor is Gorazdestan with its subcontractors, so that the final works will be done by reputable company that is the only one in BiH that works with so-called tennisit and they will make the final, but also the biggest works that will meet the standards of the Tennis Association of BiH, so that we can organize tennis tournaments and other competitions,” said Mensur Curovic, director of the Sports and Recreation Center Gorazde.

With a rich sports offer and two tennis courts, the city stadium will receive a better appearance since protective fence will be changed together with the final layer of the tennis courts.

“As part of this, we will also renew 90 meters of fence around the city stadium,” explained Curovic.

He added that tennis fans will play the first recreational matches on the 19th of September, immediately after the completion of works. Since the courts will be constructed in accordance with European standards, we expect Gorazde to host and organize the tournament for tennis players from BiH and the countries of the region.
