At its session today, the Government of the Canton of Sarajevo passed unanimously, on the proposal of the Ministry of Health of the Canton of Sarajevo, a Decision approving the employment of 119 workers at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo for an indefinite period of time.

The clinical center requested consent for the employment of 168 workers for an indefinite period, which includes 55 specialist doctors, 43 senior and intermediate nurses-technicians and laboratory technicians, one graduate engineer in medical radiology, one clinical psychologist, and 68 non-medical workers.

The Government of the Canton of Sarajevo decided, in accordance with the proposal of the Minister of Health of the Canton of Sarajevo, Haris Vranić, to approve the admission of all required medical workers.

It was emphasized that the average number of non-medical personnel in health institutions in Canton Sarajevo is 24.7 percent, which exceeds the norms on the needs of such personnel established by the World Health Organization.

As is known from before, the Government expressed its determination to employ the necessary health personnel, especially medical workers, in order to ensure quality and smooth work in the health sector.

“With that decision, the Government showed commitment and support for strengthening the health sector, and ensuring adequate and high-quality health personnel in order to provide citizens with the best possible health services. The new colleagues will contribute to the continuity and quality of health services, especially at a time when we are facing challenges in the health sector,” emphasized Minister Vranić.

As stated in the press release by the Protocol and Press Service of the Canton of Sarajevo, the institution has secured financial resources for the reception of the aforementioned workers.
