The Government of the Una-Sana Canton signed today new collective agreements with the health workers’ unions of that Canton, based on which the personal incomes of the employees will be increased and their certain rights will be improved.

The contracts were signed with the Union of Doctors of Medicine and Dentistry, and with the Union of Medical Workers of USC, with a validity period of the next two years.

“The government is committed to achieving social peace, and in the past period we managed to reach agreements with all unions of budget users. In this way, we took a big burden off our shoulders, so in the coming period we can dedicate ourselves to the implementation of concrete projects that will lead to improvements in the health sector , both for employees and patients,” said Nijaz Hušić, Prime Minister of USC.

According to Zemina Kadirić, Minister of Health and Social Policy in the USC Government, everything was preceded by six months of talks during which the views of the social partners were brought closer together.

“We reached a compromise solution and I must say that the talks were meaningful and fair. What I must emphasize is that our partners recognized the economic situation we are in, so we increased the lowest hourly wage from 2.70 to 2.85 marks, but and other rights that concern employees, such as compensation for work in certain services that have not been paid so far, and improvement of working conditions,” Kadirić said.

In the mentioned unions, they pointed out that they are satisfied with the signed contract, and that they expect the USC government to implement, first of all, projects related to the issue of young doctors staying in these areas, and to the improvement of general working conditions in the local health institutions, Nezavisne writes.
