Government of Japan Donated More Than Eight Million BAM for Projects in B&H Since Start of the Year

Japan_Flag_WallpaperSince the start of 2014, the government of Japan has financed a total of 14 projects in B&H, whose value is estimated to have exceeded eight million BAM.

Within the framework of grant support for basic project (GAGP), the government of Japan donated more than 3,4 million BAM for projects in the sectors of basic education and culture, water supply, environmental protection and mining, and which will be implemented in more than 13 B&H municipalities.

In addition to GAGP project, the government of Japan ensured a grant in the amount of 4,6 million BAM for the purchase of sophisticated equipment manufactured in Japan, whose users will be from different institutions on the state and entity level.

This year, the government of Japan donated more than 1,2 million BAM for the improvement of the working conditions and equipment of seven elementary schools in B&H. The recipents of the grants are the elementary schools “Jezerski” Bosanska Krupa, “Boško Buha” Rudo, “Meša Selimović” Janja, Bijeljina, “Jovan Dučić” Čajniče, “Risto Proroković” Nevesinje, “Stevan Nemanja” Gornji Dragaljevac, Bijeljina and “Humci” Čelić.

The government of Japan also donated a grant in the amount of 180.000 BAM to municipality Novi Travnik for reconstruction of the sports center ”ORŠK”.

If we take into account the projects for this year, in the last 18 years the government of Japan donated more than 40 million BAM for projects in the sector of basic education. These funds allowed for the construction and equipment of 11 new elementary schools, as well as the renovation and equipping of more than 70 existing schools, announced the Embassy of Japan to B&H.
