The Minister of Trade and Tourism in the Government of the Republic of Srpska, Ned Puhovac, said today that the Government session adopted the Information on Foreign Trade of the Republika Srpska in the last year, which confirms that the largest volume of exchange was achieved with the countries of the European Union.
Last year’s volume of foreign trade was slightly more than 12.9 billion BAM, of which more than 5.3 billion BAM was related to exports, and 7.6 billion BAM to imports. Puhovac said that the foreign trade deficit amounted to about 2.27 billion BAM, while the coverage of imports by exports was 70.2 percent. Exports increased by 6.1 percent and imports by 3.9 percent compared to 2024.
Of the total exports, almost 70 percent of products from the RS were exported to the countries of the European Union, while imports from the European Union take part in about 55 percent of the total imports.
Minister Puhovac stated that the Government of the RS will try to help export-oriented companies from the RS.
“If we know that the data are like this, they are, I would say that the European Union is our partner,” said Minister Puhovac, answering the question of whether the European Union is a partner of the Republika Srpska if we consider the mentioned economic indicators.
The Minister of Transport and Communications of the RS, Zoran Stevanović, stated that in the next 45 working days, the rehabilitation of the bridge on the main road Dobro Polje – Miljevina should be completed. After that, as he said, the Public Company “Roads of RS” will complete the rehabilitation of the road on the bridge.
“We hope that traffic on that part will be opened in 60 days at the latest,” added Stevanović.
