Government of the Federation of BiH allocated 3.6 Million BAM to International Airports

Today, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina passed two decisions on the adoption of the spending program, which allocates a total of 3.6 million BAM to the international airports in Sarajevo, Mostar and Tuzla for the improvement of air traffic.

One decision refers to the adoption of the program for spending funds in the amount of one million BAM from the Capital Transfer “Capital Transfers to Public Enterprises – for the Improvement of Air Traffic” to the Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications, which are allocated to the Public Enterprise Međunarodni aerodrom Sarajevo d.o.o.

The funds are earmarked for the acquisition of a carry-on explosives detection system upgraded with an automatic weapon detection option.

The second decision on the adoption of the expenditure of funds refers to the total amount of 2.6 million BAM of the current transfer “Subsidies to public enterprises – for the improvement of air traffic” to the Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications, which allocates 1.3 million BAM to public enterprises International airport – airport Mostar d.o.o. and Tuzla International Airport d.o.o.

The Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications is in charge of continuous monitoring of the spending of allocated funds, as well as signing contracts with public companies that will regulate the method of transferring funds, implementation of the public procurement procedure and reporting on spent funds.

Public enterprises Sarajevo International Airport, Mostar Airport and Tuzla International Airport are obliged to report quarterly to the Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications on the expenditure of these funds, and after the expenditure of the funds, by February 28, 2024 at the latest, they are obliged to prepare an overall report on the funds spent transfers and submit them to the Ministry together with the decisions of the supervisory boards on the adoption of the report.

Decisions on the spending program of these funds enter into force the following day from the date of publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
