“After the workers of the Turkish company ‘Cengiz’ Zenica Branch complete their part of the work on repairing the damage to the part of the railway line at Komadinov Vrelo near Jablanica, the employees of `Željeznice` will start the construction of the superstructure elements and electrification of the railway, in accordance with their available resources,” the company told Srna news agency.
“Željeznice” states that after the completion of the works, an inspection, trial operation and technical acceptance of the structure will be carried out.
“The exact deadline for the completion of the works depends on the weather conditions, so it is difficult to provide such information at this time. If the weather conditions are acceptable, we plan to complete all the aforementioned works as soon as possible and activate traffic during February,” the Railways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina point out.
The management of this company notes that together with all participants in the construction, donors, they are making great efforts to restore traffic on this section.
The reconstruction of the railway is of key importance for the normalization of rail traffic, which was interrupted after the catastrophic floods in October, causing great damage to the economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the port of Ploče.
The re-establishment of rail transport will significantly reduce costs and facilitate the transport of goods for companies.
