Government of the RS decides on the Fixed Margin for Foodstuffs and Medicines

The Government of the Republika Srpska today adopted a decision to set a margin for certain foodstuffs, infant and baby food, and hygiene products, as well as medicines.

The decision prescribes a maximum margin for certain products of six percent in wholesale and eight percent in retail.

This decision sets a maximum margin for wheat flour in all packages, wheat flour bread, salt for human consumption in packages of 0.5 to 1.6 kilograms, pork and vegetable fat, sunflower oil in packages of 0.9 to 5.5 per liter, pasteurized and sterilized milk and yogurt in packages of up to 1.6 liters.

The margin is also set for granulated sugar in packages of half to five and a half kilograms, infant food and baby food – exclusively breast milk substitutes, diapers for children and adults, liquid dishwashing detergent in packages of up to one liter, and powdered laundry detergent in packages of up to three kilograms.

The decision also prescribes a margin on medicines, namely a maximum margin of eight percent in wholesale and 20 percent in retail.

This decision shall enter into force on the day following its publication in the “Official Gazette of the Republic of Srpska”, and shall cease to be valid on December 31, 2026.

The Government of the Republika Srpska has today established several legislative proposals under the urgent procedure, namely the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on the Investment and Development Bank of the Republic of Srpska, the Proposal for the Law on the Amendment to the Law on the Fund for Restitution of the Republic of Srpska, the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on the Fund for the Development of the Eastern Part of the Republic of Srpska.

The Draft Law on Amendments to the Act on the Action Fund of the Republika Srpska, under the urgent procedure, and the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on the Development and Employment Fund of the Republic of Srpska were also approved.
