In the office of the Prime Minister of Zenica-Doboj Canton Miralem Galijasevic was held a meeting on which was agreed that the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton will secure incentives for the producers of raspberries in the amount of 0.25 BAM per kilogram.

Given the fact that raspberry producers held several protests in the past period, at which they expressed their dissatisfaction with the purchase price, the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton, as they promised, increased the incentives for raspberry producers to 0.25 BAM per kilogram in comparison to last year when it amounted to 0.15 BAM per kilogram.

“We will allocate a total of 700,000 BAM for incentives for raspberry producers this year, and in comparison to last year, we increased incentives by 0.15 BAM. The Zenica-Doboj Canton is a leader in the production of raspberries and we will do everything to preserve that position,” noted Galijasevic, who also added that members of the Association of Farmers of ZDC expressed their gratitude for this decision.

President of the Board of the Association “Malina” Zavidovici, Nihad Imsirovic, stated that this was the most difficult year when it comes to the production of raspberries in the past 15 years.

“This is the most difficult year that we remember, and we are dealing with the production of raspberries for 15 years now. We managed to achieve our success through joint work with cooperatives and communication with the relevant ministries,” said Imsirovic.

The current purchase price for raspberries amounts from 2.30 BAM in Zavidovici to 2.60 BAM in Olovo, without incentives that are provided by the municipalities.
