Lilijan Sulejmanovic from Sarajevo, who graduated from Oxford and Harvard, decided to start a business in BiH together with her partners, after she completed a postgraduate study at both universities.
She is just one of the representatives of BH Diaspora who are starting to invest and do business in BiH.
“I can see a great potential for the development of BH economy through entrepreneurship, with the aim to use all the tools, skills and knowledge that we have gained over the past 20 years, especially the diaspora,” she stated, and added:
“We have a lot of resources, from agriculture to a small but educated labour force… I believe entrepreneurship is our strength, the very engine of our development.”
She decided to start the production of energy bars with her local partner.
Lilijan said that she noticed that we do not have some healthy, low-processed products on our shelves. In England, for example, the awareness of people about what they are putting into their bodies is increasing.
The name of the company is TE ORA, and the product will be called Bar Do.
Now they have five energy bars, which are made through minimal processing due to simple production, and they contain fruits, some nuts, honey and black chocolate. They have no additional sugars added, nor allergens like milk and gluten. Their energy values were tested, samples were prepared and sent to some fairs. They are now looking for distributors in BiH and the region.
“We will start the production right after signing the contract, and we already have the people ready to be hired. We received praise for a phenomenal taste on all the places we sent our products for degustation. We are planning to do everything with local companies, suppliers. Besides the domestic market, we are also planning to develop a brand in the world, and we also have plans for the export as well. I have great confidence in our people and talent,” concluded Lilijan Sulejmanovic.
