The director of GRAS, Senad Mujagić, resigned after the tragic tram accident in which one person died and four were injured.
This information was announced by the Cantonal Minister of Transport, Adnan Šteta.
“After learning of the accident, I went to the scene, was present the whole time and received a warning from the authorities that I may not make any statements. When the GRAS union made a statement, I received a warning from the authorities not to make statements because I am under investigation,” said Mujagić.
He explained what he was doing in the detention facilities of the CS MoI when the tram driver Adnan Kasapović was taken into custody.
He says that the representatives of the Union went to the detention facilities of the arrested driver, and that night he also came to the premises of the MoI and was told that he was not allowed to enter.
The reason for his arrival, he emphasizes, was to provide support.
Speaking about the tram’s serviceability, he said that there were various malfunctions and that old vehicles were being withdrawn. Five trams were cut up and the parts were used for those in use.
“Tram traffic has the best maintenance team. The drivers are professionals, I would sit tied up and be driven,” he said.
When it comes to the tram accident, he also says that he does not know what happened, but claims that the vehicle was technically sound.
“Everything that was done here was done in accordance with the law. Every public procurement was done in accordance with the law,” said Mujagić.
He also said that he cries every day and that his son sends him a message every day: “Grandpa, are you going to be arrested?” and that as the director of the company he headed, he is responsible because the vehicle of the company he headed was involved in the accident.
The resignation came after great public pressure was exerted on Mujagić, who has now addressed the public for the first time since the accident, Klix.ba writes.
