At the IDO I Feel Dance, I Feel Slovenia World Championship held last weekend in Ljubljana, thirteen-year-old Amina Haznadarevic from Sarajevo achieved an outstanding result, finishing 4th in the hip hop solo category among 187 juniors from all over the world.
The World Championship in hip hop, popping, breaking, and hip hop battles is one of the largest global dance competitions, gathering over 4.700 dancers from 38 countries. Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) was represented by 159 dancers from clubs in Sarajevo, Tuzla, Banja Luka, Pale, and Sokolac.
Amina, a member of Dance Club Nika, also shone in the popping duo category, where she, together with Nafisa Dzaferovic, took 7th place, another impressive result in international competition.
“Being on that dance stage and representing BiH was truly an incredible experience, something I will remember forever. A mix of excitement, happiness, and responsibility to perform well because the competition was strong. This 4th place for me is a huge achievement. I am grateful to the team from my Dance Club Nika, but also to other dancers from BiH who cheered for me that night. I am eagerly looking forward to new performances and new acquaintances, because in the end, dancing and socializing are what I enjoy the most,” Amina said after returning from Ljubljana.
Dance Club Nika was founded in 2010 and today operates in Sarajevo and Sokolac, gathering around 120 members aged three to eighteen. At the World Hip Hop Championship in Ljubljana, 19 dancers from this club participated, earning the right to compete through the BiH national championship. Jovana Vujucic, the club’s coach, emphasizes that moments like these prove that effort and dedication are always recognized: “Of course, results are important, but for me the most important thing is that children develop confidence and love for dance. When they confidently take the stage in front of thousands of people, as Amina did, it is an experience that gives them strength and shapes them for life.”
In a world where the competition is immense, the success of Amina Haznadarevic shows that with talent, dedication, and love for what you do, great results can be achieved regardless of how small your country is, Klix.ba writes.
