The “Give Us a Chance” association and representatives of various levels of government celebrated today, as part of the “Wake Up Together” project, the opening of the Green Oasis – the outdoor part of the Day Care Center for Children and People with Disabilities “Denis”.

The president of the association, Ines Kavalec, stated that children and people with disabilities will enter the Green Oasis playground on June 1st and will certainly be happy.

“This project brought together an international organization, as well as the governmental, non-governmental and private sectors, to celebrate togetherness, humanity and empathy today and show how together we can build a better tomorrow,” said Kavalec.

Federal Minister of Labor and Social Policy Adnan Delić thanked Kavalec for his engagement and stated that this is an example of how other local communities should work.

He said that the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy supports such and similar projects and associations in a systematic way, which is why they have submitted the Law on Social Services at the FBiH level for procedure, which should ensure long-term support.

The Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton, Nihad Uk, emphasized that the Cantonal Government is seriously investing in inclusion, which they have shown in recent years with examples of teaching assistants and kindergartens, as well as support for the Denis Day Care Center, which will continue in the future.

The Mayor of the Novo Sarajevo Municipality, Benjamina Karić, emphasized that the municipality is proud that the first day care center for children and people with developmental disabilities is opening in the Novo Sarajevo area and announced that the Municipality’s support will not be lacking in the coming period.
