The Palestinian movement Hamas confirmed this morning that Saeed Ali, the senior commander of Hamas’ Al-Qassam brigade, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Lebanon.

Ali was killed in an Israeli airstrike on his residence in the Beddawi refugee camp in northern Lebanon.

In addition to Ali, his wife Shaimae Khalil Azzam and their daughters Zeinab and Fatima were also killed in the attack.

“The Israeli leadership will pay for its criminal decisions against our people,” said Hamas.

Ali’s killing followed that of Fatah Sharif, another Hamas leader in Lebanon, who was killed earlier this week in a similar Israeli airstrike on his home in the Burj al-Shemali camp in southern Lebanon.
