The Municipal Court in Sanski Most on Thursday acquitted the former mayor of Bihac, Hamdija Lipovaca, in the first-instance proceedings in a case known as “Geofoto”.
In 2017, the Municipal Court in Sanski Most confirmed the indictment of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of the Una-Sana Canton (USC) dated December 29th, 2017, which was filed against Hamdija Lipovaca for the prolonged criminal offense of negligent work in the service.
The case was assigned to the Municipal Court in Sanski Most in 2017 to act upon the decision of the Cantonal Court in Bihac regarding the transfer of territorial jurisdiction.
Nevertheless, after three and a half years of trial, the Sanski Most Municipal Court decided to acquit Lipovaca of the charges in the first instance.
Lipovaca was charged with a well-founded suspicion that in the time from April 2006 to January 2010 in Bihac, as the Mayor of Bihac, he caused damage to this Municipality of 921.501,30 BAM by his negligent conduct in the “Bihac Municipality Geoinformation System Development Project”.
According to the indictment, Lipovaca ordered a geo-video of the Bihac municipality, and the company “Geofoto” from Zagreb was hired for this job.
As was stated, during the proceedings, the Prosecutor’s Office of USC failed to prove the allegations from the indictment, and thus the former mayor of Bihac was acquitted of the charges for the mentioned criminal offense, Klix
