In the last duel of qualifications for the European Championship, the handball national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina was defeated in Graz by Austria with the result 27:23. However, that defeat will not cost the players much because our selection won a place in the European Championship as one of the four best third-placed selections.

Austria opened the match better and took the lead with 2: 0. After that, they kept the rhythm of the game, and in the middle of the half they went to 8: 4. BH selection returns with the goals of Karačić and Herceg at 9: 7. In that period, Burić also had two good interventions.

However, the Austrian strengthened again, especially in the defense phase, and went to 11: 7.

Austria maintained that advantage and rhythm until the end of the first half, which they won with 15:11.

In our selection, Ahmetašević had two excellent interventions and thus prevented Austria from going for a bigger difference. Our attack worked poorly in the first half-hour.

At the beginning of the second half, the Austrians went to +5 on two occasions. Firstit was 16:11 and then 17:12.

Our national team reduced the gap to -3, but the Austrians retaliated quickly. In the 48th minute, the Austrians went to the biggest advantage of +6, the result was 25:19.

By the end of the match, the Austrians routinely kept the advantage and celebrated with the final 27:23.

Ibrahim Haseljić was the most efficient with six goals in our selection, Mirko Herceg and Ivan Karačić scored three goals each.

Our selection was helped by other results, so we will be among the four best third-placed selections and play in the European Championship for the second time. We were defeated by Greece, Italy, Ukraine and Lithuania in the last round, Sportsport writes.
