Reisul-ulema of the Islamic community in Bosnia and Herzegovina Husein-ef. Kavazović sent a message to Muslims in Bosnia and Herzegovina, homeland countries and the diaspora on the occasion of the upcoming Eid al-Adha, MINA Agency reported.
We are transmitting the Eid message of the reisul-ulema in its entirety:
“Bismillahirrahmanirrahim!
Dear brothers and sisters, friends, respected neighbors and fellow citizens,
the day of standing on Arafat, which precedes tomorrow’s great Eid joy, is the best day and the best time to draw closer to the expanses of Allah’s mercy through worship.
In the days of Eid al-Adha, we return once again to the great truth of faith: the greatest values cannot be preserved without sacrifice and renunciation. From the example of Ibrahim, peace be upon him, and his son Ismail, we have learned that through sacrifice and giving we can hope for good, which will return to us. Therefore, our lives must not be captured by selfishness and indifference, nor by the fear of uncertainty, but by gratitude, responsibility and care for others.
This Eid also comes in a time that requires composure, wisdom and firmness from us. There is much suffering in the world, injustice and calls for violence. There are many attempts to introduce fear, division and distrust. Therefore, let us remain true to ourselves and our faith.
Peace, vigilance and patience are the values on which we have always built our being and protected our homeland. Let us continue to cherish them with care. May our Eid joy strengthen our unity and trust in these days and deepen the awareness of all of us in Bosnia and Herzegovina that peace, freedom and dignity are an emanation that is preserved every day.
To all Muslims in Bosnia and Herzegovina and our Sandžak, in the homeland countries and in the Bosniak diaspora, I congratulate the upcoming days of Eid al-Adha. Spend it in joy and happiness, with dignity, as befits us!”.
