helicopterForest fire on Rujiste near Mostar, which started on Wednesday, was successfully extinguished yesterday around 1 p.m. with the help of a helicopter of the Armed Forces of B&H, as confirmed by spokesman of the Operational Headquarters of the Civil Protection of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, Pero Pavlovic.

Terrain caught by the fire was extremely inaccessible and the extinguishing was possible only by a helicopter, while the additional problem with fighting with the fire was the wind, which was increasing the fire, as well as the danger of remaining mines.

“Helicopter of the Armed Forces of B&H successfully performed their work, and fire-fighting forces that are on the field will certainly stay on duty during the day,” said Pavlovic.
