maryannThe judgments of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia-Herzegovina have to be respected, and the Parliamentary assembly of B&H has a responsibility and obligation to do that, said the chief of the Office of the Council of Europe in B&H Mary Ann Hennessey. She said the previously mentioned words after the House of Peoples adopted the changes in the Election law of B&H, in regards to Mostar.

The House of Peoples PSB&H adopted the Bill on amendments of the Election Law, in regards to elections in Mostar and which is suggested by the members of the Club of Croatian nationals.  For the suggested law, 7 delegates voted for, 4 delegates voted against and 1 delegate was restrained. From federation, 4 delegates were for, 4 delegates were against, and from Republic of Srpska, three delegates were for and one was restrained.

“If it is not possible to implement the judgment by the consensus, then it should be implemented by the democratic voting. Those who do not agree, have the option to convince the others to support the alternative and in the end to change the law in the future”, said Hennessey.

She encourages the representatives in PSB&H to adopt the amendments on the Election law, which would enable the elections in Mostar.

“The most irresponsible option is the one which is current-to do nothing and to leave the citizens of Mostar confused and in the law insecurity”, concluded Hennessey.
