A Hezbollah drone struck an aircraft parts factory in the northern Israeli city of Nahariya on Wednesday, causing minor damage, local media reported.

“An explosion was heard in the north of the city. There was damage to an industrial building, but no sirens were sounded,” a Nahariya spokesman said, adding that the incident was under investigation and security forces were searching the area.

The Israel Times reported that the factory hit by the drone produces aircraft parts.

The military said early Wednesday that a surface-to-surface missile fired from Lebanon toward northern Israel exploded in mid-air.

“The drone, launched toward the western Galilee in northern Israel, was intercepted by Israeli fighter jets,” the military added.

Israel launched a major air campaign in Lebanon last month against what it says are Hezbollah targets following a year-long cross-border war between Israel and the Lebanese group Hezbollah that erupted after Israel’s offensive in the Gaza Strip.

Israel expanded the conflict on October 1st this year by launching an attack on southern Lebanon.

More than 2,700 people have been killed and about 12,500 injured in Israeli attacks since October last year, according to Lebanese health authorities.
