The Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Krišto, and the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt, spoke by phone today about the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
They discussed the necessary steps that stand before Bosnia and Herzegovina, the stabilization of political conditions and the importance of the rapid establishment of executive and legislative power at all levels in BiH.
Also, they stressed the need to strengthen the functionality of BiH institutions, with the dedicated work of all domestic factors and the support of the international community.
Krišto pointed out that, through the guidelines and principles in the executive and legislative authorities at the level of BiH for the period 2022 – 2026, clear goals were adopted, the realization of which will build a strong and stable BiH.
Among the primary goals is the acceleration of the EU and NATO path, which implies the equality of constituent peoples and all other nations in BiH.
They also discussed the necessary limited changes to the Constitution, as well as changes to the BiH Election Law.
Krišto expressed hope and expectation that Bosnia and Herzegovina will be able to fulfill key criteria and priorities in the next year and open negotiations for membership in the European Union.
The High Representative welcomed the planned steps as well as the necessary achievement of agreed goals that will contribute to ensuring political stability, unity and peace in BiH.
Schmidt congratulated the newly elected chairperson of the BiH Council of Ministers and wished her luck in her future work, stated the BiH Council of Ministers.
