Bosnia and Herzegovina’s (BiH’s) high school students have won four medals at the Genius Olympiad which took place in the United States of America (USA), Genius Olympiad stated on its website on Saturday.
At the Genius Olympiad, BiH team presented six projects in categories of science, music and visual and performance arts.
Seven high-school students won one gold and three silver medals.
Namely, Lamija Balić and Maida Štulanović from Richmond Park college Sarajevo, Iman Hodžić and Ajdin Čaušević from Richmond Park college Bihać and Faris Demirović from the International High School Richmond Park, Sara Jusić and Emina Omerčević from Bihać, competed.
Iman Hodžić won gold medal and Lamija Balić, Maida Štulanović, Faris Demirović and Ajdin Čaušević won silver medals.
GENIUS Olympiad promotes a global understanding of environmental issues and the achievement of sustainability through basic science, arts, creative writing, engineering, design, and business development. GENIUS Olympiad provides challenges and opportunities for secondary school students, to instill in them the skills and knowledge needed to be the citizens, leaders, scientists, artists, writers, engineers, and policy makers of the future—agents who will promote and contribute to greater environmental sustainability throughout their lives. In 2019, the Genius Olympiad hosted participants from 76 countries submitting a total of 1,657 projects.
